Andrea and Lex | Wedding in Islamorada, Florida at Sea Ranch
We are pretty sure you will fall in love (we did) with Andrea and Lex! A knockout couple to say the least. They tied the knot in Islamorada Florida, at a gorgeous venue called Sea Ranch Estate. They wanted the theme of their wedding to be authentic Islamorada. Everything from their wedding table center pieces to their wedding arch was created with Islamorada in mind. We asked them a few questions about how they met and their wedding choices. Read below to find out more…
Where did you and Lex meet? We met in Gainesville, FL. I (Andrea) was a trainer at a gym that Lex attended and we were friends for a long time and when I stopped working at the gym Lex took me to a Gator game, and the rest is history.
The big proposal: We had talked about marriage and Lex let me know that he was ready, so I had an idea that it was coming. We were in Islamorada for Christmas and we took a boat ride with some close family and he proposed on the front of the boat close to sunset, I had no idea what he was doing when he got on one knee because although I knew it was a possibility I had no idea it was about to happen.
How long have you been together? 4 years
Wedding theme? We wanted the Theme to be authentic Islamorada. All of our centerpiece foliage was cut from my dads yard, we had lots of LED lighting to make sure the property would stay lit all throughout the night and we even made our wedding arch out of raw cedar and palms.
Are there any special traditions you wanted to include on your wedding day? Being barefoot or in sandals is a real keezy thing, so we had the wedding party barefoot. There wasn’t too much tradition that we went for with our wedding. Lex and I try to be health conscious when it comes to food and we also like to shop local when we can, so almost our whole menu was whole foods and most was sourced locally in the keys or locally in florida. We also had some of our beer from the local brewery, Florida Keys Brewing Company.
Why did you choose the venue that you chose? We knew we wanted to get married in Islamorada, and for sure we wanted to be on the island, Upper Matecumbe. That being said, there are only so many properties that are large enough on the water that you can rent out and set the property up exactly how you want and Sea Ranch is the all around best option.
