Andrea and David’s Wedding at The Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale

It started as a friendship and turned into a relationship. David and Andrea are teachers at local south Florida school. Andrea shares how the engagement proposal happened…

“I like to start our weekends with happy hour picnics at the beach right after work.  David had asked me what I felt like eating for dinner at the beach, and usually we get Panera salads, but this time I was feeling Chik-Fil-a.  He kept on asking me are you sure, he said champagne and Chik-Fil-a is a weird combination, but I was insistent.  I thought Chik-Fil-a and champagne sounded amazing and what a great way to bring in the weekend.  So, we get to the beach and set up shop, and start eating and drinking.  David told me that it was my turn to take the trash (and the trash can on the beach is super far, so I put up a lil fight about taking it).  So, just like how we always settle of who is doing what, we settle with rock, paper, scissors shoot.  One round only.  and of course, I lost.  So I had to take the garbage.  Little did I know, that David was prepping himself and prepping his phone to film the proposal.  He met me half way back to our spot, and he hugged me, and told me that he loved me very much and right then and there he got down on one knee.  It was an amazing moment.  He had asked my parents the day before, so once it happened my parents and his parents were waiting for my phone call.  We celebrated that night with both families.  :)”

The brides dress is by Katie May and purchased from Boca Bridal.
The bridesmaid dresses were floral print from BHLDN Anthropologie Bridal.
The groom and groomsmen wore Calvin Klein suits.
Andrea and David are both local South Floridians and wanted to incorporate the Fort Lauderdale vibe. They chose to have their wedding at the Bonnet House. Andrea says… It’s the perfect Florida staple: tropical, romantic, and garden vibe.
To incorporate their teacher lifestyle they included a school theme into their wedding day.
They had pencils engraved with their names and wedding date, as well as rulers that said “Love Rules”.  And a sign that said “Please take one for you and your study buddy”.
They had seating assignments named as every grade level, pre-kindergarten through twelve grade. (how cute!!!)
